Protests will take place across Greece on Saturday to mark the 2023 Tempe train accident, organizers said.

Maria Karystianou, president of the Association of Victims of the disaster, called on citizens to “take to the streets, without political parties or interests, only for the common good.”

The main rally is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Syntagma Square in Athens, with additional gatherings expected in other cities. The event will coincide with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ speech at the Thessaloniki International Fair, which begins at 7.30 p.m.

In a social media post, Karystianou emphasized the right to “life, justice, safety, love, light, oxygen, dreams and hope,” urging unity, remembrance, and stronger safety measures.
