An increasing number of direct air connections are being established between Athens and South and East Asian countries.

While most are operated by Asian carriers, Aegean Airlines will begin direct flights to Delhi and Mumbai in March 2026. Already, in the first seven months of 2025, passenger numbers from East Asia have grown faster than overall international traffic.
