Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Giannis Kefalogiannis stated on Monday that the new pay scale for the Armed Forces, including Fire Department personnel, will come into effect in October.

Through the new pay scale, announced at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), approximately 75,500 members of the Armed Forces will see an average increase of 110 euros in their wages next month.

In the new wage system, basic salary will depend on years of service, and an increase will be applied to the resulting amount according to rank. Thus, for senior officers, their average wage increase in October will exceed 200 euros.

Kefalogiannis added that military personnel will also benefit from the overall tax cuts announced by the prime minister at the TIF.
