Parts of the Athenian Riviera and the northern suburbs of Attica, as well as tourism destinations that attract a significant percentage of high-income people, stand out among the areas in Greece with the largest concentration of luxury homes sold at prices exceeding 1 million euros.

These are the areas that act as main attractions for wealthy buyers from abroad, who are looking for a luxurious construction for their residence in Greece.

According to an analysis by Britain’s Astons, there are 18 such areas in Greece, where 295,763 properties are concentrated. Among these, 8.2% or 24,243 are homes that cost more than €1 million. Of course, depending on the region, these percentages vary, with the most typical cases being Mykonos, Ekali and Voula, where more than half of the properties available for sale exceed €1 million.

On Mykonos, 65.3% or 793 homes out of a total of 1,214 for-sale ads concern properties over €1 million. In Ekali (northern Athens), out of the 946 ads, 583 or 61.6% concern homes over €1 million, while in Voula (southern Athens) the corresponding percentage is 53% and 2,927 homes out of a total of 5,350.

Plaka in the city center follows in order, where 42.6% of the available homes for sale cost over €1 million, Spetses island with 42.2% of the total (and just 79 properties), and Vouliagmeni with 41.8% and 270 homes. The appearance of Paxi on the list is interesting, as 20 out of 50 homes for sale (40%) cost over €1 million. In Glyfada the percentage is 32.1%, or 3,507 properties out of a total of 10,910, while on Santorini the properties valued at over €1 million come to just 21.1%.

The list also includes Corfu, Sithonia, Kefalonia and Arachova.

According to the chief consultant for residence permit programs, Susanna Uzakova, “Greece continues to offer excellent opportunities for high-income people looking for luxurious secondary residences or long-term lifestyle investments in one of the most popular destinations in Europe.”

These properties, due to their cost, can also secure a residence permit.
